A Night in Old San Antonio : A History in Photographs
Description:
Set in the second oldest municipal park in the United States, and the city's oldest park, the San Pedro Park Branch library was also the first branch library in the city. Architect Atlee B. Ayres built and designed the Italian Renaissance style building in 1930. When the aging tile roof needed replacement in 2003, the Society provided a $25,000 matching grant for the work. Then in 2007, Kinnison and Associates helped renovate and restore the rest of the library, winning a Society Preservation Award in 2008.
