Description:
In 1810, this site was part of a Spanish land grant given to Vicente Acosta. Emmanuel Longini bought the property from Sarah Eager in 1892 and built this house. The Society successfully lobbied to preserve the Acosta—Longini House, along with twenty—one other historic buildings, located on the proposed HemisFair site in 1964. During HemisFair '68, the house became the restaurant Casa San Miguel, which served Philippine cuisine.
Since the year 2000, a portion of each adult NISOA ticket has gone into a fund designated specifically for restoration projects in La Villita and HemisFair Park. This fund has paid for over $142,000 in restoration work to historic buildings in HemisFair Park, including $34,488 for repairs to the Acosta—Longini House in 2005.
