A Night in Old San Antonio : A History in Photographs
Description:
The San Antonio Conservation Society purchased the historic Jose Antonio Navarro complex in 1960 for $37,500, which was considered "a very hefty amount for the time." Their new property consisted of three buildings, built c. 1850, for the famed Texas patriot and signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence.

A $91,000 restoration began under the direction of Brooks Martin, FAIA, in 1962. Ten years later, the restored Navarro complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and in 1975, the Society deeded the property to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The Texas Historical Commission took over management of site on January 1, 2008.
