To Our Members and Friends:
The Conservation Society of San Antonio is following the developments regarding the spread of the COVID-19 virus very carefully to insure the safety and health of our Board, Staff, volunteers, members and supporters. Out of an abundance of concern for the safety of our members and volunteers and in consideration of the Mayor’s issuance of an emergency declaration, we have cancelled our planned commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the voluntary and peaceful integration of the Woolworth’s and other lunch counters on Alamo Plaza.
We will find another time later in the year to commemorate this event and the religious, business, and civil rights leaders who made it possible. Please stay tuned to our website, e-blasts and social media platforms for announcements regarding other upcoming events and programs. We appreciate your ongoing support and hope you will continue to contribute to our efforts as we navigate this difficult time.
Today the Fiesta Commission announced that Fiesta will be postponed to November 5-15. This means that our major Fiesta event, A Night In Old San Antonio® will now be held in La Villita November 10-13, 2020. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us in La Villita to celebrate the multicultural history of San Antonio with food, drink, music and cascarones! Viva Fiesta! Viva NIOSA®! Viva Preservation!
