Celebrate Black History Month 2023

Tired of waiting for a segregated society to change, Black students took direct action to reclaim equal rights in one of America’s most accessible public places; the store lunch counter.  KSAT 12 highlights two opportunities to learn more, also listed below.

On Monday, February 13th, join SAAACAM and IKEA Live Oak in celebrating the opening of the new exhibition at IKEA Live Oak “Black Resistance at the Lunch Counter” with a complimentary breakfast. The exhibit will be available to the public for viewing February 13 through March 16.
